Who we're looking for:As a Lead Data Analyst you will help to ensure that the business is making data-driven decisions during all aspects of the product life cycle—from early-stage return on investment modeling all the way to designing, executing and analyzing product feature experiments that drive value in Rover's marketplace. Product analytics has team members based in the US and Barcelona and Rover is looking to hire a seasoned or aspiring leader that in the medium-long term will help continue to build out the analytics function in our European headquarters through support, leadership and individual contribution to the analytics team in Barcelona.
You will be tasked with analyzing metrics that drive business performance on the demand and supply side of the marketplace. You will be encouraged to identify positive and negative changes in our marketplace while also working with the team to hypothesize and identify the underlying root causes of fluctuations in our metrics. You will be empowered to present the trends and the overarching narratives of marketplace performance to the broader organisation. If there are clear actions that need to be taken to improve marketplace performance an analyst is empowered and supported in the effort to ensure the right people are in the room to find the right solution. At the end of the day they are passionate about metrics and the performance of the business.Your Responsibilities:Serve as an essential thought partner with product and design teams to own end-to-end analyses, including scoping, executing, and interpreting product feature experiments. Present trends, insights, and drivers of marketplace performance to senior leadership, providing clear, actionable recommendations to guide strategic decisions.Lead and enhance Rover’s A/B testing processes, ensuring experiments are well-designed and effectively inform product ROI frameworks and customer success metrics.Collaborate with engineering and data infrastructure teams to ensure seamless access to actionable, high-quality data.Improve the analytics organization's capabilities by advancing statistical rigor, increasing experimentation throughput, and expanding modeling expertise.In the medium-long term, support the growth of the product analytics team by managing and mentoring a small group of analysts.Proactively explore new data sources and partner with the data platform team to unlock and maximize their value.Your Qualifications:At least 6 years of experience in analytics, with a proven ability to think critically and use data to identify actionable insights, craft compelling narratives, and drive business impact.Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing junior team members, analysts, and non-technical stakeholders.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams through concise, actionable insights.Proven expertise in A/B testing, statistical analysis, and experimental design.Advanced proficiency in SQL, with the ability to review and optimize code from analysts and collaborate with engineering on data models.Experience working with cross-functional partners to identify and scope business problems, define deliverables, and implement scalable reporting solutions.Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Mode) and a track record of turning complex data into intuitive visuals.Familiarity with modern data tools and concepts, such as event-based datasets, Snowflake, and dbt.Nice to Have:1+ years of people management experience, with demonstrated ability to grow and support high-performing teams.Experience in a two-sided marketplace.Familiarity with Python, R, or a similar computational language.Knowledge of product analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel, Google Analytics) and event-based data.Benefits of working at Rover:Competitive compensationLong-term incentive plan with a company performance-based cash payoutPermanent contractPension PlanMeal tickets through CobeeGenerous PTO AllowanceHybrid schedulePrivate health insuranceDiscounted Gym MembershipBring your dog to work (and unlimited puppy time)Monetary help for adopting a dog plus yearly credit to use on our platform Flexible work hours, sometimes you’ll need to be in at certain times, but on the whole, we’re pretty flexible when it comes to managing workload and timeGrab snacks, fresh fruit, in our kitchen to keep yourself going Regular team activities, including happy hours, game nights, and moreRover is an equal-opportunity employer committed to promoting a diverse, inclusive, and inventive environment with the best employees.
