GENERAL SUMMARY :
The Lead Anesthesia Technologist develops and generates work schedules for anesthesia technicians and technologists and coordinates daily assignments to meet the fluctuating technical and clinical needs of OR and NORA (non-operating room) areas. In conjunction with the supervisor, monitors operational demands and adjust works assignments as appropriate. Requires advanced knowledge of all aspects of anesthesia workroom functions, specialized equipment preparation and troubleshooting, and medications used in the provision of anesthesia and perioperative care. The Lead Anesthesia Technologist is responsible for daily logistical activities of all anesthesia sites, both in and beyond the operating room areas. Oversees technicians and technologists in preparation of anesthetizing locations, in performance of routine laboratory testing, and equipment maintenance to ensure adequate and safe anesthesia care.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
+ High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
+ Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited Anesthesia Technology program required.
+ Previous experience in patient care environment required.
+ Previous leadership experience preferred.
+ Previous experience in equipment repair preferred.
+ Verbal and interpersonal communication skills required to interact with other members of health care team. ,
+ Physical ability to lift and move patients, supplies and equipment.
+ Walking and standing for long periods required.
+ Successful completion of 120-day introductory period required to achieve knowledge of policies relative to job duties and patient care unit.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
+ Certified Anesthesia Technologist (Cer.A.T.T.) required.
+ ACLS certification required.
+ PALS certification preferred.
