PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Primarily responsible for performing all functions of assigned area and providing guidance and leadership to hourly associates; understands and trains on all positions within assigned area. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

     

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:                              

Independently provide leadership and guidance to hourly associates in assigned areaPerform all functions in assigned area, back up or fill in for absent associates as neededDirect the work of others and is a “go-to” for questions and concerns in relation to task performance in the absence of supervisor or superintendent at their directionUnderstand and train/cross-train incoming or current associates on new process or skill as neededSearch for and present ideas to leadership for process improvementsEnsure area is clean and sanitary around assigned linePerform all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not requiredBasic math skills and computer skills

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Ability to perform one or more functions of assigned area processesDemonstrated leadership and mentoring abilitiesAbility to work unsupervised and self-motivateAbility to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hoursSound work ethic, honesty and moral character

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Follow departmental and company safety policies and programsMust wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Stand up to 8 hoursLift up to 60 lbsWork in a wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC)Will be exposed to noise of > 85 decibels, CO2 and moving production equipmentAbility to lift 10 lbs repeatedly and climb stepsAbility to frequently kneel, crawl, stoop, and bendWork around raw, live animal odors
