At Manheim (a Cox Automotive company), we keep a wide array of vehicles alive and well, prepping them for their second life. We’re looking for a Lead Auto Maintenance Technician whose skills under the hood are unmatched and who knows what it takes to be an effective leader. The schedule for this position is Tuesday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

What You’ll Do
Supervise the work of at least two full-time employees by determining work procedures, preparing schedules, expediting the workflow, assigning duties and examining work.
Monitor and evaluate employee job performance and conduct performance appraisals.
Recruit and train shop employees.
Supervise vehicle inspection to ensure that work is satisfactorily completed.
Communicate, discuss and resolve reconditioning goals, results and problems with the Operations Manager.
Lead by example, champion Cox/Manheim values and ensure that all employees are treated with respect.
Monitor and control the use of supplies, materials and equipment for the recon shop and purchase equipment and supplies as necessary.
Monitor and aide in ensuring established guidelines for a safe work environment.
Use feedback to improve customer service.
Who You Are
You’re an effective collaborator and communicator who drives results. You know the value of innovation and encourage development in yourself and your team. Here are a few more things you’ll need:
Minimum:
7+ years of vehicle repair experience (vehicle reconditioning, detailing, mechanical and/or body shop experience)
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Excellent people, teamwork and customer service skills.
Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
Ability to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
Ability to lift 1-30 pounds.
Preferred:
High school diploma or equivalent. Competent supervisory and excellent organizational skills. Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations preferred. Currently ASE master certified preferred.
