The Bartender is primarily responsible for providing guests an enjoyable, expertly served beverage experience following Four Seasons standards of excellence for quality, professionalism and friendliness. The Bartender develops a complete working knowledge of all products served by the bar. They ensure proper pouring, mixing, blending of drinks.

The Bartender develops a complete working knowledge of all products served by the bar. They ensure proper pouring, mixing, blending of drinks.

Skills/Qualifications:

Ideal candidate will have:

Oversee all aspects of beverage service in the Culina and Lounge Bar, ensuring that drinks are prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality and consistency.

Create and update the cocktail menu, selecting premium and innovative drinks to enhance the guest experience.

Supervise and train bar staff, including bartenders, bar-backs, and servers, to deliver exceptional service.

Ensure that guests are provided with attentive and personalized service, addressing any special requests or concerns.

Handle guest feedback and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and professionally.

Maintain an accurate inventory of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, glassware, and bar supplies.

Place orders for restocking and monitor inventory levels to minimize waste and optimize cost control.

Ensure that the bar operates in compliance with all local and state liquor laws and hotel policies.

Implement safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Conduct regular quality checks with a manager on drinks to ensure they meet the hotel's standards.

Monitor the cleanliness and organization of both bars area and equipment.

Interact with guests, offering recommendations, and providing information about the bar's offerings.

Create a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for guests, encouraging them to return.

Maximize revenue through suggestive selling, upselling, and promoting special promotions or events.

Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for bar staff to improve their skills and knowledge.

Foster a positive work environment and team morale.

Help Coordinate promotions held in the bar area.

Share insights and recommendations with management to drive improvements.

Maintain a deep knowledge of wines, spirits, and cocktails, staying updated on industry trends and new products.

Train the staff on product knowledge and proper serving techniques, including delivery Four Seasons standards

Perform all other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management.

Ideal candidate will have:  

To maintain LQA standards

To ensure there is sufficient stock levels and MEP

To motivate the team to achieve common goals

To preserve and maintain the daily cleanliness of the bar; consider the environment an extension of one self and shares with others in preserving its’ unique appearance

To ensure that bar maintenance is reported and carried out

To ensure stock control levels are adhered to at all times (ordering, receiving, goods and storage)

To perform all duties relating to the opening and closing of the bar, allowing efficient and proactive service

To ensure that the bar area is properly stocked with glassware, utensils, alcohol and linen

To accommodate the dining service aspect that may be requested at any time

To operate the following equipment: cocktail shakers, glassware, chinaware, blender, bottle opener, spirit measure, point of sales system etc.

To possess thorough and detailed knowledge of all menus

To encourage the up-selling of F&B as required

To have full comprehension of the POS in front of house operations

To lead by example and always initiates the flow of ideas to one another whenever possible

To know the set-up of the Bar\Lounge always using the correct table number & position numbers and be aware of the flow of the service to help Bartender\Waiters on duty

To be aware that you are also stepping out on the floor to serve the guests

To be in total control of the Bar when on duty, ensure that the station is not left unsupervised

To prepare and serve all beverages for guests in a timely fashion and according to company standards, Bar recipes and licensing laws

To promote the Bar in order to establish loyal, regular clientele whilst creating a guest data base showing individual preferences

To maintain the Four Seasons standards of the Bar\Lounge

To immediately inform the Manager on duty of any guest complaints or comments

To perform all cashier related duties according to company policies whilst ensuring that guests receive bills in a prompt and accurate manner

To comply with any reasonable instruction from Manager to work at all times towards achieving the highest possible standardsTo carry out Food & Beverage management duties

To be involved in outside catering events

To be involved in special in-house events

To carry out annual appraisals on all Bar\Lounge team members

To conduct departmental orientation for new members

To liaise with the L&D Manager regarding departmental training needs

Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the rotunda Manager and Director of Food and Beverage from time to time
