LEAD BELL PERSON-BELL DESK-SS (FT/VARIES)

Responsible for the successful overall operation of the Bell Desk and all related services, ensuring an optimal level of guest service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Provides impeccable guest service to all guests. Supervises Bell Desk staff, ensuring that all are properly trained in the responsibilities of their jobs, particularly in the area of guest services. Lead, direct, and supervise the daily activities of the department. Maintains a working knowledge of the Company’s property, as well as special events on and near property, in order to advise guests of same, whenever possible. Responds to guests’ requests, complaints or inquiries courteously and promptly. Maintains storage areas for guest’s luggage; maintains logbooks for guest laundry and valet transportation. Directs guests to their rooms and assists Bell Desk Employees with carrying luggage. Possesses a good working knowledge of all room locations, types, and special features; maintains information on all outlets, including hours of operation, and local attractions. Inspects public areas, including rest rooms, elevators, and front entrance, performing light janitorial duties as necessary, to keep the areas clean and free of debris. Ensures that the Bell Desk staff is receptive and visible for guest services at all times. Ensures compliance with all house rules and regulations. Leads by setting a positive example to all employees. Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or above

Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED is required; One (1) month of related experience is required. Two (2) years of guest service experience in some capacity is required.  One (1) year of previous supervisory or management experience in a hotel or resort environment is preferred.  Must be familiar with large scale hotel operations.  

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess excellent communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate all aspects of   hospitality, professionalism, prompt and courteous service, with extreme attention to detail.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to talk or hear. Essential duties for this position include but not limited to the following: regularly required to stand/walk 100%, lift, push, pull from seventy-five (75) to one hundred (100) pounds, and carry luggage and other guest items must be able to maneuver large luggage up to seventy-five (75) pounds as well as load and unload wheelchairs, motorized carts and other similar equipment as needed. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are the representative of those an Associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud.  When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.  This position is required to work in outside weather conditions and may perform responsibilities and/or essential functions on slippery or wet surfaces as well as exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Associates must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
