Our Lead Champ Camp Counselors bring energy and creativity to the camps every day, combining adventure, education, and fun. They inspire campers to be curious learners using our nationally recognized curriculum that promotes educational experiences that focus on environmental science and sustainability with a nature mindset. Our Lead Counselors are committed to making their camp successful and know that creating meaningful relationships with children, families, and their team play a crucial role in that success.

When you join our team as a Lead Champ Camp Counselor you will:

Implement KinderCare's curriculum in a way that is consistent with the unique needs of each childCreate a safe, nurturing environment where children can dream, imagine, and explorePartner and connect with parents, with a shared desire to provide the best care and experience for their childrenSupport your camp’s success, partner with camp staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment and engagementPromote a strong passion for outdoor activities and nature-oriented consciousnessCultivate positive relationships with families and community partnersBring your expertise and passion for nature and environmental sustainability, serve as a knowledgeable resource, and support leadership create an experience that’s aligned to our brand promiseCultivate positive relationships with families and community partnersAssist the Champ Camp Director in leading counselors, supporting families, achieving enrollment, and operational objectivesServe in various roles throughout the camp as needed, including coverage for Champ Camp DirectorCounted in ratio up to 50% during program hours Qualifications: At least one year of summer camp experience as a counselor working with campers between 4 to 12 years of ageA love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every dayAbility to facilitate and participate in outdoor physical activities such as, but not limited to hiking, kayaking, swimming, and campingOutstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and handle multiple situations effectivelyMeet state specific qualifications for the role or willingness to obtain (if applicable)CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtainPhysically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoorsAble to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with childrenRead, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents in English
