Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Specialty
**Req Number** 149516 Job Description Leads and guides Technologists, as required. Performs a variety of diversified and complex laboratory tests in accordance with the department policies and procedures manual. May perform teaching duties related to training students and new employees. Job Responsibility * Leads and guides lab technologists, lab assistants, and other laboratory staff. * Acts as a resource, when questions arise; handles more difficult tests/ procedures. * Performs a variety of laboratory tests and procedures relevant to the lab; prepares and tests specimens for examination and reviews and reports results. * Performs all Quality Control procedures, including accumulation and recording of data; reviews, evaluates and documents all corrective action in accordance with established and required policies and procedures. * Performs routine and/or preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment. * Troubleshoots basic instrumentation, reagents, technical problems and methodologies. * Maintains enough supplies at each work station through the inventory control system, Assists in in-service training programs, as needed; assists in all bench training in the laboratory. * Uses Infection Control practices and procedures. * Performs related duties as required. Job Qualification * Bachelor's Degree required * Current License to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed. * 4 years of technical experience, required and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, preferred OR Master's Degree with 2 years of technical experience *Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
