Department Summary: The Advanced Technical Computing Center (ATCC) is seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer with a desire to work on innovative advanced approaches and technologies to solve our sponsors’ most critical technological problems. In this role you will provide architectural and hands-on support to critical customer problems in cloud computing and DevOps as well as software development and architecture. In addition, you will have an opportunity to work in several specialty fields with information technology to include Infrastructure Applications, IaaS, PaaS, Cloud Computing (including OS & Application virtualization), platform migration, server consolidation, utility computing, and grid computing. Roles & Responsibilities: + Identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues. + Review existing systems and offer recommendations to sponsors and other MITRE projects for improvement + Collaborate with development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions Basic Qualifications: + US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance and DHS suitability + Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or similar field; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience. + Expert with one or more commercial cloud offerings (AWS, AZURE, Google Cloud, etc) + A strong working knowledge of AWS computing platform, dev/ops tools such as Jenkins and Github + Working knowledge of one or more system management technologies such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet + Troubleshooting and analytical skills + Good communication and collaboration skills + Leadership skills and demonstratable examples of leading projects and/or teams + Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD + Strong knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages: Python, GO, Java, Javascript, Typescript, C sharp + This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site Preferred Qualifications: + 8 years of experience in a technical arena and minimum of 4 years of cloud experience + Active TS/SCI security clearance with full scope polygraph + Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or similar field and 6 years of experience including 4 years of cloud experience + Expert at approaches to DevOps + Expert in architecting solutions in one or more commercial cloud offerings + Ability to architect and advise commercial cloud solutions + Expert knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages: Python, GO, Java, Javascript, Typescript, C sharp This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s): None This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s): Secret Work Location Type: Hybrid MITRE is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
