Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Cloud Engineer specializing in Data Center and Cloud technologies to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage the virtual data center infrastructure, act as a critical escalation point for the NOC/IOC team, and oversee local ISP vendors and office infrastructure for over 700 personnel. This role requires expertise in handling critical incidents, outages, JIRA tickets, and participation in cloud migration or patching projects, with a strong understanding of automation, orchestration, and vulnerability management. 
 

Key Responsibilities: 

Data Center Infrastructure Management: Oversee and manage virtual data center infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability. 

Incident Management: Serve as an escalation point for the NOC/IOC team, resolving major outages and critical incidents effectively. 

Vendor Management: Coordinate and manage relationships with local ISP vendors to ensure reliable connectivity and service. 

Office Infrastructure Management: Maintain and support the local office infrastructure, serving over 700 employees. 

Project Participation: Contribute to cloud migration, patching projects, and vulnerability management efforts. 

JIRA Ticket Resolution: Address and resolve JIRA tickets efficiently, ensuring adherence to SLAs. 

Automation and Orchestration: Leverage tools such as Ansible, HashiCorp Consul, Nomad, Vault, Packer, and Terraform (or equivalent technologies) to streamline operations and improve efficiency. 

System Administration: Demonstrate proficiency in Linux and Windows systems administration. 

Scripting Expertise: Utilize scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell to automate tasks and processes. 

Cloud and Virtualization: Exhibit expertise in VMWare and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. 

Monitoring and Analysis: Use tools like 1000Eyes, Snowflake, Splunk, or equivalent network traffic dashboards to monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot issues. 

Geographic Collaboration: Work effectively with peers across different geographies to ensure seamless operations. 

Qualifications and Skills: 

Technical Proficiency: 

Strong knowledge of automation/orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, HashiCorp tools). 

Advanced understanding of Linux and Windows systems administration. 

Proficiency in cloud environments like AWS or Azure and virtualization technologies such as VMWare. 

Hands-on experience with monitoring tools like 1000Eyes, Snowflake, or network traffic dashboards. 

Scripting Skills: 

Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell. 

Problem-Solving Skills: 

Ability to handle critical incidents, troubleshoot issues, and resolve JIRA tickets. 

Adept at managing patches and vulnerabilities. 

Collaboration and Communication: 

Strong interpersonal skills to work with peers globally. 

Ability to manage vendor relationships effectively. 

Experience: 

Prior experience managing infrastructure for large-scale offices. 

Exposure to cloud migration and patching projects. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in (relevant degree) and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 6+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience.

Familiarity with dashboards like Splunk. 

Experience working in a global, multi-cultural team environment. 

Knowledge of additional tools or frameworks is a plus.
