Overview The Lead Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Governance Specialist will lead and execute CMDB Governance to drive innovation, efficiency, and value through the implementation and enhancement of configuration management technologies, processes, and data in ServiceNow. Oversee CMDB projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with data governance policies. Conduct regular audits, maintain comprehensive CMDB documentation, and drive continuous improvement and training programs. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data consistency and integration, fostering a culture of excellence and compliance. Responsibilities Job Description Lead workstreams and execute CMDB Governance to drive innovation, efficiency, and value in the implementation, integration, enhancement, or modification of Configuration Management related technologies, the people, the data, and processes. Doing so through automation, cost-efficiency measures, enhanced configuration processes, new configuration management workstreams, rationalization, reuse of configuration items, optimization of configuration data, compliance, and data integrity. Serve as and lead CMDB projects as project coordinator and operational overseer. Leading the team on CMDB governance tactical objectives, outcomes, and milestones in direct support of leadership and correlation to system and leadership stragies ensuring alignment with system goals, KPIs and OKRs. Oversee enforcement of data governance policies and standards for CMDB governance. Provide detailed recommendations on changes, risks, gaps, and industry trends through reports and presentations to align Fairview to excellence. Lead regular audits to verify data compliance and accuracy, identify areas for improvement, and hold stakeholders accountable to compliance standards. Lead the creation and maintenance of all CMDB documentation, including but not limited to governance, policy, standards, master processes, and procedures, ensuring clarity and accessibility through centralized documentation platforms. Drive training programs through workshops, seminars, and one-on-one mentorship to stakeholders and team members on documented CMDB best practices and processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, automation, and high standards. Drive continuous improvement activities to maintain high data quality & health. Ensuring the compliance, reduced staleness, accuracy, and completeness of in-scope CI Classes by implementing and maintaining robust data validation and verification processes. Drive excellent organizational change management and communications through collaboration with stakeholders by hosting regular meetings and having open communication channels to ensure data consistency, completeness, and seamless integration across various systems and platforms providing awareness of and compliance toward CMDB Governance, policies, standards, processes, and projects. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business or technology field or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training 7+ years experience in CMDB Administration or Governance with strong understanding of current Common Service Data Model adoption including responsibilities such as guiding vendor partners toward successful outcomes, tactical decision making, implementing CMDB technologies and processes and experience operationalizing data maintenance and data governance practices for an enterprise environment. 1+ year(s) experience leading teams and complex projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with executive-level business & technology partners and presentations with management. Excellent analytical skills Excellent reporting skills with multiple of the following areas demonstrating evidence of showing the value through performance metrics, financials, capacity, smart goals, and efficiencies/automation. Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with all levels of the organization. Including strong collaboration, facilitation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to facilitate problem-solving among groups with varying needs and priorities; effectively lead without direct authority Demonstrated ability to independently multi-task and prioritize work Demonstrated ability to drive tactical day-to-day decision making Demonstrated ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical language. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Minimum of 7 years of experience in CMDB Administration & Governance, with expertise in current Common Service Data Model adoption Experience in the governance of a CMDB and the related data & processes Client and stakeholder relationship management experience and the ability to proactively manage expectations.
