Role Summary As a Lead Compensation Manager, you will leverage your expertise to ensure the development of scalable, sustainable, and equitable compensation programs that will attract and retain top talent. We are looking for a utility player that can operate as a compensation program manager with strong analytical skills and a Compensation Business Partner consulting with HR Business Partners and Leaders. You will collaborate with key stakeholders and HR partners in the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs that support and drive the company’s business strategy. In addition, you will support key annual compensation processes, compensation systems and tools infrastructure focused on the Rivian and VW Group Technology organization. This role will report directly to our Senior Manager, Compensation Programs and be onsite in our office located in Palo Alto, CA. Responsibilities Partner with Compensation leadership to develop and implement processes and tools, ensuring ongoing process and product improvement Work with cross-functional teams and leadership to understand business goals and recommend/implement innovative approaches, policies and global processes Drive focal processes, including compensation planning, pay equity analysis, survey matching, and benchmarking Continue to iterate on global compensation market positioning and salary ranges (for new and existing positions) to ensure market competitiveness and alignment with our overall compensation strategy Develop cost models and forecast analysis for global compensation programs and budgets Build a consultative and collaborative relationship with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders to provide comprehensive support and counsel on all compensation related activities, such as strategic new hire offers, promotions, international transfers, budget allocation, top talent, and retention Develop and enhance the compensation communication toolkit and conduct HRBP, TA, and Manager training on compensation philosophy, tools and processes Drive the creation and implementation of a compensation metrics dashboard; utilize metrics to inform HRBP and Manager behavior and compensation decision outcomes Provide recruiters the visibility, tools, resources and support needed to provide timely and competitive offer packages Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field and 5+ years of progressive compensation experience ideally in a high-growth, scaling, technology environment Exceptional project management skills and can effectively balance competing priorities and driving key projects from concept to implementation Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with a commitment to accuracy, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to varying audiences Proactive problem solver, driven to tackle new and interesting issues and build innovative solutions that push the status quo Proven ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional partners Experience creating and supporting global compensation programs at a technology company Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a solutions-oriented mindset Demonstrates strong initiative, is self-managed, and can prioritize and multi-task Able to communicate across diverse groups with a clear and approachable style Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $149,700 — $187,100 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
