You will be responsible for leading the daily operation of the area including normal operation, problem-solving, coordinating PM's, and making decisions on schedule adjustments. You will provide direction and assign job tasks to other compounding operators in the area.
Shift: 7pm-7am, 2-2-3 - Building 5
Starting hiring rate: $27.29/hr plus $2/hr shift differential
In this role you will be responsible for:
Ensuring compliance with all environmental, health and safety procedures, policies, and practices.
Maintaining a safe working environment for all employees. Identifying and escalating safety issues immediately. Supporting safety improvement initiatives.
Reviewing and following the daily compounding schedule.
Adjusting daily compounding schedule to account for changing production needs.
Following standard operating procedures and specifications or instructions of higher level technical personnel to monitor screens, meters, gauges, valves, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production and process specifications.
Unloading bulk tanker deliveries into Tank Farm tanks.
Maintaining accurate production records and logs of equipment and product performance.
Driving tow motors and staging materials for adhesive and silicone lacquer batches.
Leading shift turnover discussions, communicating daily priorities to the team, and assisting in keeping MDI board up to date.
Assisting and supporting other team members in meeting department and site goals. Participate and share in performing all tasks necessary to run the area. Contribute and participate in team decision making. Provide support in project work and other special requests.
Acting as lead trainer to other employees in the compounding department.
Accountable for daily production maintenance, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping tasks according to established standards.
Participating in group problem-solving teams and other continuous improvement activities. Support ELS initiatives to improve manufacturing performance (throughput, scrap reduction, safety, ISO work instructions, SOPs).
Performing all other functions as necessary.
Performing preventative maintenance tasks working with engineering and maintenance at operator level.
QualificationsRequired:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience.
Regard safety as a core value; must be willing and able to work safely; must always wear PPE; must serve as a role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices, policies, and procedures.
Demonstrate a strong quality and service focus; must address issues effectively when problems arise and take initiative to understand root cause, then communicate / educate the team in a timely manner.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Ability to read and comprehend documents related to product manufacturing.
Able to work both individually and in a team-based environment.
Able to work during the designated hours and accept a reasonable amount of overtime (including weekends and short-notice requests).
Demonstrated initiative, integrity, and judgment skills
Demonstrate record of embracing and contributing to daily ELS processes and tools - MDI, standard work, 5S, etc.
Positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and demonstrated reliability.
Proficiency with computer applications, especially strong ERP system transactional skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance periodically through the shift.
Preferred:
5 years of experience in skilled labor position with demonstrated problem solving ability
5 years Compounding experience
