• Actively participate in senior-level management meetings, providing valuable input and contributions.
• Understand and influence the commercial aspects of proposals and bids, serving as a trusted adviser to sector leads.
• Review and approve strategies to mitigate commercial risks in contracts, identifying and recommending additional mitigations where necessary.
• Offer guidance to team members on negotiation strategies and approaches in their respective negotiations.
• Shape and agree on strategies for contract management, ensuring appropriate risk mitigation measures are in place.
• Confidently challenge unacceptable risks associated with contracts, representing these concerns at a senior leadership level and across the UK organisation.
• Effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines, particularly when reviewing and approving legal documentation and review packs.
• Take full ownership of all contract-related matters, bids, and proposals, while providing strategic advice and guidance as a senior practitioner.
• Drive continuous improvement of commercial processes and practices, actively promoting the sharing of best practices within the wider organisation and encouraging innovation across the team.
• Foster commercial awareness among client-facing and subcontractor-facing staff by providing targeted guidance and training.
• Oversee and manage the daily activities of direct reports, including resource allocation, performance reviews, and career development plans.
• Bring significant experience in a comparable industry, with a proven track record of managing a diverse portfolio of contracts.
• Demonstrate expertise in managing third-party relationships during pre-sales and bidding processes.
• Possess a thorough understanding of contract law and its application.
• Exhibit a professional and confident approach, with the ability to handle challenging situations involving clients and subcontractors effectively.
• Be resilient under pressure, adept at managing multiple tasks at varying stages, and comfortable navigating high-pressure situations.
