Lead Cook FT

Emerald Crest, located in Burnsville is hiring a Full-Time Lead Cook with 2+ years of kitchen experience! This is a rare position with no weekends, no late nights and no holidays. Hours: Monday – Friday, 5:00am to 1:30pm

Lead Cook Responsibilities:

Order food and general supplies for each site through the organization director vendors.
 Receive and verify all food deliveries.
 Approve and sends invoices to Director of Housing for review
 Maintain proper inventory for each site (Burnsville, Minnetonka, and Shakopee).
 Prepare and cook meals for each site (Burnsville, Minnetonka, and Shakopee).
 Package meals for each site in coordination with the Cook.
 Work together with the Cook to ensure menu items, snack requests, and other food service-related items are being sent out to each site timely.
 Develop current and up to date menus – if there are substitutes for meals, communicates that to Director of Culinary.Ensure meals, snacks and special need food items are available for each site.
 Maintain all state and federal documentation compliance.
Other Responsibilities:Keep chemicals locked up when not in use and under constant supervision when in use.
 Follow safety protocols
 Must respond appropriately to safety hazards, fire drills and emergency situations
 Must follow safety rules and regulations
 Recognize and act on safety hazards – wipes up spills or wet spots off floor, keeps hallways uncluttered when using cleaning equipment
 Report injuries/accidents to supervisor immediately per facility procedures
 Serve on committees as assigned.
 Ensure self-attendance at mandatory in-service training and online Relias training.
 Adhere to Cassia policies including but not limited to: safety, confidentiality, infection control and resident rights.
 Other duties as assigned Communicate with each site regarding food needs and follow up.
 Maintain appropriate inventory (par level) of food staples as determined per site needs.Ensure that food is labeled and dated at all times and any not labeled or dated is discarded.
 Assist with washing kitchen dishes and pans and putting away appropriately.
