Lead CRNA - Outpatient Surgery Center

Located on the same campus as Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, the OSC boasts 8 state-of-the-art operating rooms, providing an exciting and collaborative environment for advanced clinical care. As the Lead CRNA, you will be a key member of the CRNA leadership team, responsible for providing clinical anesthesia care while managing OSC CRNA personnel in a collaborative MD/CRNA care team model. You will provide leadership in clinical, research, and education matters at the OSC, ensuring alignment with the mission and vision of the Department of Anesthesiology. The clinical site offers a diverse case mix, including General Surgery, ENT, Pediatrics, Eyes, Urology, Dental, Plastics, Orthopedics, GYN, and minor Vascular procedures. As the Lead CRNA at our OSC, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of anesthesia services while mentoring and leading a dynamic team of CRNAs. Responsibilities: You will maintain a strong clinical practice, ensuring that their skills align with the standards and expectations of staff CRNAs. Serving as the primary representative of OSC CRNAs, they will act as a liaison between the OSC Medical Director and the Department of Anesthesiology Leadership. A key part of this role is ensuring the clinical competence of all OSC CRNAs by participating in professional practice evaluations and collaborating with the OSC Medical Director and Chief CRNA to address professional and patient care concerns. You will foster a collaborative practice, involving the OSC Medical Director, attending physicians, OSC CRNAs, and other members in the inter-professional care team. They will play an integral role in OSC leadership meetings, assist in daily schedule management and ensure that licensing, certifications, credentials, and privileges of OSC CRNAs remain up to date in collaboration with the Chief CRNA. Further responsibilities include fostering a culture of continuous improvement by supporting clinical, research, quality improvement, and educational initiatives. You will mentor team members in their professional development, participate in recruitment efforts, and contribute to refining policies and procedures. You will also coordinate SRNA education, and facilitate orientation for new CRNAs, SRNAs, and anesthesiology resident physicians. Qualifications Required Licensure/Certifications Minimum Qualifications: - Master’s Degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia education program. - Minimum of 2 years of experience as a nurse anesthetist. - Experience in an ambulatory surgery center environment. - Recent pediatric anesthesia experience preferred. - Demonstrated supervisory experience preferred.
