Summary

Position Highlights:

Under the broad direction of the CT Supervisor, Radiologist and the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, the Lead CT Technologist shall oversee all technical aspects of the department and perform procedures on selected anatomy as requested by the clinician based on age appropriateness.  The Lead Technologist is expected to perform a variety of procedures with the knowledge and ability to apply the proper scan protocols needed to visualize the anatomy in question following safe CT practices.

Acts as a Lead Technologist to the rest of the technologists in the department and has the ability to troubleshoot technical difficulties as well as possess critical decision-making abilities for safe use of the CT scanners due to any irregularities or malfunctions.

Must be available to work on-call hours. Meets all behavioral and ADA standards as delineated in the job description.

Responsibilities:

Performs all CT exams and procedures. Follow all standard protocols and positioning guidelines. Must be able to start IV's and administer contrast based on department protocols. Must be aware of all CT related policies in reference to radiation and patient safety along with the code blue, hazard signs, patient preparation and other CT related restrictions or safety precautions. Must have working knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy to include knowledge of disease anomalies and abnormalities encountered in CT. Provides leadership and assists with decision making in the absence of a supervisor, but not to override the directives of the supervisory and management staff

Credentials and Qualifications:

Associates Required (AA) in Radiologic Technology ARRT ® and Advanced CT Certification Florida State License  BLS certification A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a CT Technologist in a progressive role, preferably in a hospital setting.  Experience in working with hospital information systems in a Radiology and/or clinic environment. Interpersonal skills to provide effective leadership to staff and maintain a collaborative working relationship in a team focused model. Thorough understanding of healthcare environment and/ or customer service needs. Personal computer experience
