Job Description
Leads team members to operate Computed Tomography (CT) equipment, prepare patients for examination, and ensure that proper information has been obtained for the physician to make a diagnosis. Ensures the management of patient flow, data reconstruction and sending images for physician's interpretation. Maintains required documentation.
Job Responsibility
+ Leads CT Technologists to prepare patients for examination; explains procedures and demonstrates equipment set up to administer the proper procedure in a timely fashion.
+ Performs a wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the utilization of equipment for the diagnosis and/or treatment of diseases.
+ Sets up the equipment to provide imaging service and positions patient for the procedure.
+ Leads CT procedures to include: abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams, extremities, sub-periosteal implant planning, radiation therapy treatment planning, biopsies, etc.
+ Ensures that a consent form for IV contrast materials has been obtained and screens for pregnancy.
+ Enters patient history and other pertinent information obtained from requisition completed by Radiologist to include anatomical area of interest and adjusts and ensures proper slice thickness and couch increment.
+ Responsible for teaching and mentoring fellow CT Technologists.
+ Provides functional oversight of department in the absence of the chief tech.
+ Provides feedback on staff quality of images and patient interaction to Chief Tech and/or Manager.

Job Qualification
+ Vocational or Technical school Diploma required.
+ Current License to practice as a Radiologist in New York State,
+ and Current ARRT Radiology registration AND ARRT CT registration required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
+ 5-7 years of technical experience including 2 years of leadership experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $63.92-$68.87/hour
