As an Lead Application Engineer you will be responsible to lead projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact for downstream & upstream Turbomachinery Solutions at the regional level. In this role, you will also be responsible for complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within area of application engineering and contribute to the overall business strategy..

In the role, you will lead the following activities:

  Providing technical expertise to Sales and Commercial Operations in selecting, implementing, and developing results-oriented product applications and solutionsBeing responsible for supporting leaders in delivering revenue commitmentsBeing able to estimate Baker Hughes equipment and system performance, hardware, and price for budgetary estimates for new units and upgrades of Centrifugal CompressorsParticipating in Risk Assessment processes, deal strategy reviews and cost out reviews during proposals preparation defining the best technical solutionsBeing able to align sub vendors proposals according to customer’s Requisition and relevant applicable technical specs guarantying quality completeness and time responsivenessPerforming cycle and equipment comparisons to establish economically optimum / BH preferred cycle and configuration with involvement of and communication to the commercial teams and application engineersDeveloping and maintain documentation of processes &information used within the evaluation, analysis and pricing group for the purposes of ensuring consistency, sharing of information among team members, and training resourcesProviding performance data and hardware definition and work with Engineering and Sales to assure technical support of proposals.Providing accurate and timely data, which may involve direct interaction with internal and external customersCommunicating openly with management about the status of projects to facilitate the evolution of business strategies and increase our hit rate on current and future projectsManaging daily priorities and work on assigned projects or processes.Use effective problem-solving skills and documents to communicate results of generated technical data.Establishing working relationships using clear and concise writing and speaking skills.

To be successful in this role you will:

Have bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution with Minimum of 8-15 years experience in an Engineering or Sales Support role specially in Centrifugal CompressorRelevant 3 years in Application Engineering (Preferred)Have product knowledge with technical skills; Ability to provide technical directionHave prior experience with customer specifications review, proposal development, and contract development and negotiations is preferredHave Knowledge of International standards- API, ASME etc.Show good negotiation and influencing skillsBe able to demonstrated oral and written communication skillsBe successful at building relationships and collaborating to resolve problems
