Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Data Analyst to join our team. The Lead Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) data to identify trends, patterns, and potential risks within a workplace, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making and proactively implement preventive measures to improve overall EHS performance and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, database management, and excellent interpersonal skills, coupled with Environment, Health, and Safety program management experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Management:
Gather EHS data from various sources like incident reports, near-misses, safety inspections, environmental monitoring, and employee health records.Cleanse and standardize data to prepare it for analysis.Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely reporting.Ensure data integrity and accuracy by implementing robust data validation and quality control processes.Data Analysis and Reporting:
Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.Utilize statistical analysis techniques to identify trends, patterns, and correlations within EHS data.Generate comprehensive reports and dashboards to visualize key EHS metrics, including injury rates, incident types, environmental compliance, and exposure levels.Develop predictive models to forecast potential risks and areas of concern.Leadership:
Mentor and develop peers in a complex matrix environment, contributing to high performance and professional growth.Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Network, Legal, Real Estate, and others, to understand their data needs and provide relevant insights.Present complex data findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Act as a key point of contact for data-related inquiries and projects.Strategic Planning:
Contribute to the development and execution of the organization’s data strategy.Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the data analysis workflow.Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data analytics and technology.Tool and Technology Management:
Evaluate, implement, and manage data analytics tools and software.Ensure the team is proficient in using data analytics tools and provide training as needed.Act as a subject matter expert and liaison between EHS and support organizations in new application deploymentsRequired Skills and Qualifications
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Palantir Foundry, Snowflake, Excel, Power BI, Python, SQL, statistical analysis packages)
Understanding of data visualization techniques
Knowledge of EHS management systems and compliance requirements
Analytics Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret complex data setsAbility to identify trends, patterns, and root causes from data analysis
o Communication Skills:
Excellent communication skills to effectively present data insights to diverse audiencesAbility to translate technical data into actionable recommendations
o Industry Knowledge:
Familiarity with EHS principles and industry best practicesUnderstanding of relevant environmental regulations and safety standards
