What will I be doing?

As the Lead Data Engineer – Great China and Mongolia, your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

·       What your day-to-day will be like:

o   Apply industry principles, methodologies, and tools throughout the application lifecycle to transform the design specifications into data pipelines that will address customer needs.

o   Define and implement testing strategies for these solutions to ensure they align with Hilton standards and provide the appropriate controls and safeguards to ensure the quality and security of our data.

·       How you will collaborate with others:

o   Collaborate closely with global and regional technical product owners, data architects, data modelers, developers, run operations in both Americas and APAC/China region to develop enterprise data solutions on both Global AWS and China AWS/Alibaba cloud environments.

o   Transition the final solutions to our Operations team for ongoing support by defining standard operating procedures and conducting knowledge transfer sessions.

·       What projects or deliverables you will take ownership of:

o   Multiple initiatives under EAD, building data pipeline in both Global and APAC/China region to send and receive data following the compliance standards and enforce data governance policies.

o   Design, Build and support large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines with data processing frameworks with high quality and efficiency on multi-cloud environment

What are we looking for?

A Lead Data Engineer – Great China and Mongolia, serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

·       Bachelor’s Degree, or associate’s degree plus 8+ years of Technology related experience

·       Seven (7) + years of professional work experience in Technology or related field

·       Bilingual - fluent in speaking both English and Mandarin is preferred.

·       Exposure to Big Data technologies such as Redshift, Glue, Talend, MapReduce and Spark

·       Any Licenses or Certifications or Trainings in AWS, Alibaba, Talend or Informatica

·       Hands-on experience developing ETL jobs (batch and real-time) for structured and unstructured data using Scala, Python, Lambda, MapReduce, AWS Data Pipeline, AWS Glue, AWS EMR, Step Functions, Apache Kafka, Airflow

·       Hands-on experience in My SQL, PostgreSQL, Couchbase, ClickHouse and Redshift

·       Experience implementing solution in of cloud Data-Lake, Warehouse, Marts and Master Data environments.

·       Experience in RDBMS and Columnar databases including SQL and performance tuning the database for large datasets
