Your Impact

As a Lead Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing tens of highly available database clusters across geographically different data centers. You will ensure that the availability, scalability, and uptime requirements of database services are clearly understood and addressed. You will also evaluate the progress and results of development efforts. You will preserve the integrity and design of the databases to support mission-critical databases necessary for business operations. Under minimal supervision, you will produce deliverables in alignment with the overall Transformation program, demonstrating mastery skills in your area of subspecialization.

 

What the Role Offers

Provide proactive knowledge and act as an escalation point for Engineering, Service Support, and Service DeliveryBuild capabilities to quickly and effectively incorporate the management of databases of newly acquired companies Performance Tuning and Query Optimization using Performance Monitor, SQL Tuner, and other related monitoring and troubleshooting toolsMaintaining various SLAs and tracking them regularlySupport in team management, recruitment, and evaluation of talent, the ability to grow, coach, and develop the teamOversee the direction, development, and implementation of database software solutions Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems' technical performance. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvementOversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades. Carry off-hours escalation as part of a pager-rotation shift or an emergency with 10 minutes of Response TimeTrain new hires & NOC engineers on technology implementation and ensure quick onboarding of new hires

What You Need to Succeed

Relevant experience as DBA in supporting database environments for Oracle, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL & DB2Provide expertise in the various database platforms hosting our applications.  You will be a senior-level Microsoft SQL Server DBA and Oracle systems but willing to ramp up and learn Azure SQL, RDS for SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, and other database platformsExperience in performing database maintenance, migration, and upgrading hardware and software enhancing the success and performanceExperience in developing data migration plans to migrate legacy on-premises databases into AWS / GCP dataExperience in detecting and troubleshooting Oracle database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other resourceExperience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, materialized view issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc.Experience in managing and monitoring database operations including backups, restores, recovery models, database table space management, security management, index management, integrity checks, configuration, and patching.
