ROLE OVERVIEW

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Lead Design Specialist within our Marketing team with a strong focus on digital design and the versatility to execute non-digital design requirements when needed. This individual will drive the creative direction for our brand, leveraging cutting-edge tools and technologies, including AI-driven design solutions and tools for creating dynamic, personalized, and scalable ad content.

The ideal candidate will combine exceptional creativity with technical expertise to deliver compelling, high-quality designs across various platforms while ensuring brand consistency and audience engagement. In future, this role will play a key part in building and shaping the design team, including recruitment, process development, and team mentorship.

 

KEY RESULT AREAS

 

Digital Design

Lead the conceptualization and creation of digital assets, including social media visuals, email templates, website elements, performance marketing ads, and other relevant digital designs.Use AI tools to generate creative concepts, streamline design processes, and enhance efficiency.Develop dynamic, personalized ad banners and creatives at scale for performance marketing campaigns.Stay updated on the latest digital design trends, tools, and technologies, incorporating them into creative strategies.

Non-Digital Design

Design offline marketing materials, including brochures, print ads, packaging, and event collateral, ensuring alignment with brand identity.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive designs across both digital and non-digital touchpoints.

Brand Development

Maintain and evolve the brand’s visual identity along with the Brand team, ensuring consistency across all platforms and channels.Develop and manage brand guidelines to support internal and external stakeholders.

Collaboration and Leadership

Work closely with brand, UX, and product teams to align design strategies with business goals.Guide and mentor junior designers, providing feedback and ensuring high-quality outputs.Manage relationships with external design vendors or agencies as needed.

Innovation and Scalability

Implement tools and workflows to automate and scale creative production, especially for personalized marketing.Experiment with emerging technologies, including generative AI, to push the boundaries of creative possibilities.

 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

 

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field.5+ years of experience in a digital design role, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.Proven experience using AI tools for creative design and generating personalized, scalable ad content.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.

Skills and Competencies

Strong portfolio showcasing digital design work, including dynamic and personalized ad campaigns.Proficiency in tools or platforms for generating bulk ad creative at scale (e.g., Celtra, Bannerflow, Smartly.io).Exceptional creativity with the ability to adapt to a range of styles and formats.Strong understanding of UX/UI principles for digital platforms.Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.Ability to work within in defined brand CI parameters.Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.

 

Designs and produces a wide variety of digital, graphic and/or illustrative material and also provides input in the development of the Brand standards. Responsible for delivering effective, aesthetic, on-brand, and on-strategy creatives.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and Conceptualization

Produce multiple concepts and prototypes to design digital products/services.

Product and Solution Development

Define and deliver products and services that meet customer needs by selecting the best possible approaches available within established systems.

Packaging

Improve the packaging process by cultivating an understanding of packaging needs and developing design ideas and prototypes.

Information and Business Advice

Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or contentious issues to others.

Documentation and Backup

Create and maintain complex technical and/or user documentation to a high standard, and back up files to ensure instant recovery if problems occur.

Product Management

Monitor specific aspects of a product life cycle, including long- and short-term development and marketing. Perform analyses on specific aspects to stay abreast of trends in the marketplace and ensure the product's competitive position.

Research

Achieve specific goals for a designated part of a research program. Involves working within established research systems.

Quality Assurance

Help management to implement quality assurance change initiatives and/or make continuous operational improvements.

Knowledge Management

Implement policies and processes, collect best practices and case studies, and participate in internal knowledge-sharing sessions to capture and share knowledge among colleagues on project/program outcomes and innovative practices in allocated projects.

Personal Capability Building

Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
