Lead Diesel Mechanic
**Pay Range:** $35-$43/h **r** **Schedule:** 4 10 hour shifts per week + opportunities to work OT **Relocation Offered!** **Employee Housing Offered!** The Lead Diesel Mechanic performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, failure analysis, and repairs on a fleet of trucks, vans, heavy equipment, and buses to ensure maximum vehicle availability. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** + Conduct PMI and repairs per guidelines. + Troubleshoot, analyze, repair, and modify fleet vehicles. + Read and interpret system schematics. **Work independently on:** + Electrical, hydrostatic drive, and hydraulic systems + Computer systems (emissions, airbags, antilock brakes) + Train co-workers in maintenance. + Operate vehicles to evaluate maintenance results. + Accurately record daily activities. + Stay updated on maintenance technologies. + Maintain a clean and safe work area. + Perform additional duties as assigned. + Manage areas such as tires, welding, fuel inventory, and shop equipment. + Train personnel in equipment use and safety. + Perform minor welding/fabrication projects. + Assist in daily shop operations. **Job Requirements:** + High School Education or equivalent. + 5 years of heavy equipment diagnostic and repair experience + Expertise in hydraulics, electrical systems, engine systems, drive train, chassis, welding, fuel systems, air systems, and schematic drawings. + Ability to work in all weather conditions. + Ability to lift 50 pounds. + Valid US Driver's License and ability to secure a Commercial Driver's License. + Own tools for major PMI and repairs. + Operate all types of fleet equipment. **Benefits** : Pay Range: $35-$43/hr Comprehensive health benefits package.
