The Lead Digital Product Owner (Director) - Domain Rationalization holds a key leadership position passionate about developing and implementing a comprehensive domain strategy for Manulife. This role requires a visionary leader who can align short-term actions with a long-term vision, to effectively rationalize and optimize the company's digital domains and digital applications. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with segment leads, cross-functional teams, and external partners to identify opportunities, strategize solutions, and ensure seamless execution of domain migrations and decommissioning. The ideal candidate should be a subject matter expert on domain and applications, digital product ownership, along with expertise in SEO/SEM, risk management, legal, and compliance.
As a leader, the candidate will manage a team as well as a consulting engagement. The candidate will be evaluated on key metrics such as the number of domains rationalized, financial savings achieved, and the quality of execution. Experience in digital transformation and change management in global regulated industries is also preferred.
Position Responsibilities:
Own the Domain Strategy: Develop and maintain both the short-term and long-term (north star) vision for Manulife's domain strategyCollaborate with Segment Leads: Identify and validate opportunities for domain migration in alignment with the north star visionStrategic Planning: Devise the optimal strategies to achieve the long-term domain rationalization goalsGovernance and Oversight: Establish governance structures to ensure new activities align with the strategic vision and do not deviate from the established goalsCross-functional Execution: Work with Technology, Risk, and Legal leads to successfully execute the decommissioning of domains
Progress Reporting and Business Case Development: Collaborate with the Project Management Office (PMO) to report progress and develop business cases for future rationalization activitiesLeadership and Management: Manage a team of two direct reports and oversee the work of a consulting organization
Required Qualifications:
7+ years experience in digital product ownershipDomain management experience is a must; strong preference will be given to past history of executing similar projectsFundamental understanding of Akamai, and CMS (AEM) is a mustProven experience in consulting and people managementExperience with agile working models and agile release managementDemonstrated ability to work cross functionally (Marketing, IT, risk, legal, compliance, procurement)Excellent stakeholder management skillsStrong analytical and data management background to drive informed decision-makingExperience in leading digital transformation initiatives, driving significant change within an organizationPreferred Qualifications:
