Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:
POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Lead Distribution Designer for the Power Delivery Distribution Department in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The qualified candidate will have experience with common utility standards, the ability to use common industry design software packages and general construction knowledge and aptitude. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for performing designs on both overhead and underground distribution systems (4 kV to 35 kV)Performing calculations, interpreting codes and standards, creating construction packages, and performing quality control reviewsWorking both independently and within a team frameworkDealing directly with clientsLeading teams of engineers, designers, field personnel, and drafters to complete projectsSome travel should be expectedRequired Education/Experience
10+ years of experience in the design and operation of overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV)Familiarity with distribution design software, the National Electric Safety Code, and utility best practicesDemonstrated ability to develop client relationship, write proposals and manage projects from a technical and administrative perspectiveThe ability to lead and direct a team of engineers, designers, and draftersAssisting with developing proposals, work plans, budgets, and schedules as well as assisting with managing each element will be requiredMust be able to successfully pass client's background screening processMust have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordDesired Education/Experience
A two-year technical certificate or degree, prior utility design experience, or distribution line constructionExposure to utility Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Work Management software such as Maximo, STORMS, GE Smallworld, ArcFM, etcStrong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skillsAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
