**Job Summary:**
This Lead 3D CAE Modeling and Simulation Engineer will lead a team responsible for developing 3D CAE roadmap and vision for enterprise level strategy, including Aero Dynamics, Vibro Acoustics and Structure Analysis focusing on high fidelity Modeling and Simulation works. The roadmap will include the modeling and simulation data and process management (SPDM) as well as best practice of tools in certain application domain, which will support new product and technology development projects in Trane Technologies and lead strategic development of modeling and simulation environment to support short term and long term business product roadmaps. The candidate must be highly motivated and be able to lead a team of employees in the development and implementation of new processes, tools, and procedures that meet Trane’s modeling and simulation strategic goals.

**Where is the work:**
This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.
**What you will do:**
+ Responsible for leading a diverse group of engineers in 3D CAE including Aero Dynamics, Vibro Acoustics and Structure Analysis focusing on high fidelity Modeling and Simulation works.
+ Responsible for creating and designing technical roadmaps for 3D CAE to response to both industrial new technologies and focus as well as Trane Technologies SBUs’ needs
+ Lead the strategic develop of 3D CAE capabilities, including leveraging new capabilities from varies tools venders, new investigation from consortia and conferences
+ Lead the integration of 3D CAE high fidelity modeling work with lower fidelity modeling work in various areas including meta-modeling, machine learning and Artificial Intelligence to support Model Based System Engineering and Digital Twin
+ Lead and drive 3D CAE standard work and processes. Coordinate the work for enterprise among multiple teams
+ Lead the discussions among multiple business unit and engineering centers along on-going projects and activities
+ Work as 3D CAE Subject Matter Expert to lead the development and discussion in related project development from multiple business units
+ Scan and screen new technologies in HVAC&R in 3D CAE modeling and simulation context
+ Integrate closely with various functional team members collaborating while enhancing deploy new modeling and simulation methodologies and processes to speed up product to market
+ Coordinate external collaborations for general modeling and simulation fields around the global.
**What you will bring:**
+ Master’s degree in Mechanical (thermal) Engineering, PhD is a plus to this position.
+ 10~15 years’ experience in air-conditioning / HVAC system product design and modeling
+ Familiar with popular 3D CAE modeling and simulation tools and process tools
+ Strong planning, problem analysis and resolution, and organizational skills
+ Able to make timely decision in stressful situations
+ Ability to listen to customers and translate into accurate, actionable specifications
+ Must be team-oriented with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
+ Ability to effectively adapt to change (environment, requirements, roles, Objectives)
+ Essential Skills or Knowledge Required:
+ Expertise in the thermal sciences (thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics), gained preferably from experience with HVAC components & systems
+ Familiar with HVAC&R products, such as Residential Split Systems, Commercial Chillers, Rooftops, Air Handlers and Transport Refrigeration
+ Familiar with commercial tools such as: Ansys, Cadence, Siemens tool boxes.
+ Familiar with pre-process and post-process tools.
+ Experience in problem formulation & solution using numerical methods via commercial solvers & custom code required
+ Familiar with SPDM tools are highly preferred
+ Familiar with Reduce Order Modeling is highly preferred
+ Experts in Modeling and Simulation methodologies, including different type of HVAC components and systems.
**Compensation:**
Base Pay Range: $ 120,000 - $145,000Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
