We are looking for a **Lead Engineer, Tooling Design** to join our **Kitchener, ON** location! The Lead Engineer will be responsible for managing tooling development projects and initiatives. This position will manage the budgets, schedules and tooling design resources required to complete development projects on time and within budget. The role will also be responsible for the administrative and technical supervision of Project Engineers and Tooling Designers. This position has direct supervision responsibility for Project Engineers and Tooling Designers. **ACCOUNTABILITIES** **Design tools for field services work** + Create conceptual designs of service tools for machining, welding, inspection, etc. + Create design plans and perform design reviews. + Seek out stakeholder input. + Support tool testing and modifications required during execution. **Technical Leadership** + Provide hands-on management of tooling aspect of projects. + Oversee technical work of tooling designers and provide mentorship as required. + Ensure technical specifications, standards, and nuclear services quality assurance manual procedures are properly reviewed and adhered to. + Thoroughly assess technical risks and take action and develop mitigation strategies where necessary. **Resource Management** + Continuously plan and monitor resources (Tooling Designers) and activities in order to accomplish operational objectives including completion of projects and tasks, and cost and schedule compliance. + Act as primary technical interface with the customer on customer-funded projects. + Provide resource and project updates as required to the Manager, Design Engineering. **KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE** + Bachelor’s degree or Technical Diploma in Engineering (prefer Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics disciplines). + At least 5 years of experience in a nuclear service environment. + Previous experience leading/managing technical groups and/or project teams. + Understanding of Quality Assurance systems. + Solid background in any of tooling/machine design, materials, non-destructive examination, welding. **WHY JOIN BWXT?** + Work within the growing and exciting nuclear industry as well as with highly skilled employees! + Competitive salaries + Employer-paid pension plan + Profit sharing plan + Bonus plan + Competitive Health and Dental benefits + Educational Refund Program + Life insurance… and so much more! The base salary range for this position in [[Ontario]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[89,000]] and $[[139,000]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
