Lead Engineer - DevOps

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced DevOps engineer to provide technical direction and leadership to the DevOps team to support and deliver a robust and resilient application platform to our technology team as well as our customers. This role will serve as a decision maker to our application platform seeking to continually improve our environment through principles of infrastructure as code and automation / self service. This role will serve as a facilitator of our stakeholders and DevOps team needs to weigh options and make final sign off on our technical and architectural decisions. In addition this role will help to organize and prioritize the backlog of the team to ensure we are focusing and delivering on the necessary tasks to meet our customers needs. We are looking for a partner in our journey, so we are looking for someone who can identify opportunities in tools, process, and execution and delivery.

Responsibilities:

Partner with devops leadership in developing recommended technical solves for platform and engineering needs or issues Develop new terraform modules Develop new Ansible playbooks Install, configure, and maintain middleware solutions & devops tools in both on-premises and cloud environments Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to application infra systems, ensuring optimal performance and uptime Support and train developers to achieve self-service deployments as well as application platform capabilities Support application platform life cycle through deployments, patching, security needs, and all necessary actions to provide a stable and resilient platform to our customers Establish best practices for Build Plan conventions Administer and contribute to the architecture of our build tools and platform Assist and diagnose platform and application issues impacting site operations Provide remediation and recommendation to observe inefficiencies or bottlenecks in tools, processes, and platform Contribute and manage team backlog to balance internal projects, external projects, support, and maintenance needs Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the team

Qualifications:

5+ years working experience as a devops, platform, or systems engineer 3+ years experience developing Terraform 4+ year experience working on Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) as an administrator or architect 2+ year experience with creating and debugging with Ansible or equivalent 1+ years experience in leadership role in an agile work environment 1+ year experience with Kubernetes Experience with middleware platforms such as WebLogic, WebSphere, IBM MQ, Tomcat Experience with BigQuery, Data Fusion, & AI Platform Notebooks Experience with build tools (Bamboo, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Jenkins) Experience with monitoring tools such as New Relic, Splunk, Datadog, ELK, Dynatrace Understanding of infrastructure architecture (Infrastructure, Networking, Storage) Effective verbal/written communication and persuasion skills; proven ability to be successful in a multi-cultural environment You have the ability to take requests, prioritize, delegate, and manage
