Roles and Responsibilities
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering for Nozzle technology development, working closely with materials, manufacturing & test teams.Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or collegeMinimum of 3 years of experience in Design EngineeringAbility to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance at the secret level.Desired Characteristics
Minimum of 5 years' experience in Design EngineeringMaster's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace EngineeringExisting US Government Secret clearanceDemonstrated experience with exhaust nozzles, structures, ducts and linersIn-depth understanding of engineering technology and tools such as Ansys, Siemens NX, Finite Element Analysis and Geometric Dimensioning & TolerancingFamiliarity with GE design practices, processes and productsEngine design familiarizationOperational experience working in and managing complex, distributed teamsSystems level thinking in a teaming environmentAbility to navigate ambiguous design challenges/scenarios and solve open ended problems with limited requirements Desire to lead projects with established project management skillsInnovation and creativityPassionate, can-do, hands-on approachAbility to guide and influence others.Exceptional oral and written communication skillsThis role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
