Job Description:

The Lead Engineering Project Manager is responsible for leading and supporting the engineering efforts and activities located within the assigned market/area. Up to 60% travel may be required.

Responsibilities:

Leads and supervises Engineering Project Analyst(s) and/or Project Manager(s)Demonstrates a proficiency and provides guidance to ensure alignment with RaceTrac’s goals and core valuesLeads by example, instructs and coaches Engineering Project Managers and Project Analysts to ensure that RaceTrac’s protocols and procedures are being followed. Takes the prominent role in the direct reports’ training and developmentLeads and coordinates the market’s consultants to ensure all parties are performing to the standards and expectations set forth by RaceTracCommunicates to the company’s executive team the progress of all projects and elevates/presents issues that require any decisions that supersede their responsibilitiesManage individual projects in the manner of the Engineering Project Manager in order to manage work load distribution, manage more difficult/challenging issues, and to stay informed of the ever changing and expanding entitlement and permitting processesHelps evaluate, mitigate, and isolate risks involved in the pre-development processProvides expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and permitting new construction for RaceTrac and RaceWay convenience storesLeads team’s efforts to obtain the necessary permits and communicates with local government agencies as needed.Resolves highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced researchUnderstands and recommends alterations to drawings and designs to improve quality and efficiency of the end resultSelects and manages consultants on design/entitlement teams

Qualifications:

3-5 years experience, previous work experience in the petroleum industry a plusExcellent negotiation, communication, decision-making and public presentation skillsPrevious  demonstration of high performance in project managementPrevious involvement with real estate entitlement and permitting effortsProficient with MS Office Suite
