Lead Engineering Technician

Role Overview:

As the Lead Materials Engineering Technician, you will be at the forefront of supporting the analytical lab activities within the Clearwater Materials Engineering organization. Your expertise will directly influence the quality and reliability of aerospace materials and components, ensuring high-performance standards are met in the aviation industry. This is a dynamic, multi-dimensional role, where every day brings new challenges. You will handle hands-on operation of analytical equipment and collaborate with a team of engineers and technicians to conduct critical testing and evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a wide range of analytical equipment, supporting both incoming inspection and engineering evaluations.

Focus primarily on Metals and Fluids Labs, but assist with other areas like Chemistry and Polymers as needed.

Perform failure analysis, metallurgical sample prep, and tensile testing.

Support both production and engineering teams by providing technical expertise and high-quality analysis.

Manage multiple concurrent assignments with minimal oversight.

Collaborate with Engineers and cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges.

Take a proactive role in managing laboratory operations and coordinating testing schedules.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a metallurgical or analytical laboratory environment.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Expertise in aerospace materials and processes.

Experience with laboratory information management systems.

Familiarity with metallographic techniques for analyzing electronic components.

Background in other laboratory techniques such as FTIR, SEM, and analytical chemistry.

This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Pay Details: $33.00 to $34.00 per hour
