Lead ER TECHNICIAN - Full time- 11a - 1130p Nazareth Hospital
**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** **Description:** The Lead Emergency Room Technician supports, leads and directs ER technician clinical practice. Provides assessment, prioritization and direction of activites to meet the changing unit demands. Following the direction of the Nurse Manager/designee, the lead ER technician assumes leadership accountability for fostering non-licensed direct patient care to neonate through geriatric patients. The Lead ER technician implements unit specific strategies, coupled with colleague specific practice remediation aimed at acheiving high clinical quality and patient safety outcomes supportive of a high reliability envionment. Assists the healthcare team by providing personal assistance to patients by caring for the patient, equipment, supplies and supports clerical and nursing care activities. " Lead Emergecy Room Technician Duties • Ensures delivery of efficient patient care. Provides supervision of ER Technician care delivered by others. • Coordinates the efficient use of personnel, equipment and supplies. • Provides for individual and staff support during stressful situations. • Serve as a resource person to other staff members. • Supports staff and students in educational activities of the unit. Collaborates with Nurse Manager to identify the educational needs of the staff. Assists staff in obtaining educational resources • Assists manager in staff evaluation process from probationary performance to annual appraisal • Intervenes and identifies patient problems by direct interaction with patient, family, visitor, physician or staff involved and escalates/implements appropriate actions. Communicates information to the appropriate Nurse Manager/or Director • Maintains unit in state of readiness for DOH and Joint Commission • Participates in the department Performance Improvement Activities by obtaining information and reporting events to department manager or director. • Assist Nurse Manger in achieving department goals/organizational goals " " Lead Emergecy Room Technician Duties • Ensures delivery of efficient patient care. Successful completion of phlebotomy training with six (6) months of hire Certification and Licensure Current BCLS required. Skills • Phlebotomy proficiency preferred • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills • Computer experience preferred Experience Minimum one (1) year experience in a clinical setting.
