User-Centric AI Features: Design and deploy AI-powered features that improve exploration, discovery, navigation, deliver personalized recommendations, and support accessibility for diverse users. Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with applied scientists, data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to integrate generative AI capabilities seamlessly into Apple Maps products and services. Scalability & Optimization: Create scalable AI solutions to handle global map data, ensuring reliability and consistency across various geographies and cultures. Responsible AI: Advocate for and implement ethical AI practices, ensuring fairness, transparency, and alignment to Apple’s privacy principles in all generative AI applications. AI-Assisted Business Tools: Innovate tools for business owners to manage and optimize their presence on Apple Maps using AI insights and generative solutions. Emerging Technologies: Explore and apply state-of-the-art advancements in multi-model generative AI, deep learning, and natural language processing to create unique, future-ready mapping experiences. **Minimum Qualifications** + MS in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning or equivalent field with 10+ years of applied AI research and product development experience + Proven experience in Generative AI/LLMs/Foundation Models with a proven track record of deploying solutions in production + Strong programming experience in one or more of the following: Java, C++, Python + Experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch + Strong collaboration driven track record of execution and delivery + Familiarity with privacy-preserving techniques, ethical AI practices and responsible AI deployment. + Deliver as a technical team lead; guiding a set of engineers and applied scientists + Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to tackle complex, large-scale challenges + Strong interpersonal and communication skills with executive presence **Key Qualifications** **Preferred Qualifications** + PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or equivalent field + Experience working with geospatial data, computer vision or natural language processing for real-world applications + Desire to tackle meaningful problems which lie at the intersection of user-experience, big data processing and computational algorithms + Understanding of Apple’s ecosystem and services is a plus + Alignment with Apple's philosophy of privacy and data security **Education & Experience** **Additional Requirements** **Pay & Benefits** + At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
