Summary:

This position is responsible for the accurate reporting of the interstate pipeline assets utilizing various tools including GIS, ArcMap, ArcPro, UPDM database. This includes research, modifications and updates to the pipe specifications, pipeline features and pipeline facilities.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 Responsible for building and maintaining the current GIS database, utilizing the GIS software suit and specialize tool sets.  Creating and editing data in UPDM database using ArcCatalog and specialized tools.  Works closely and communicates with project managers and other internal/external customers for the retrieval of information from the field offices.  Preparing and distributing projects work accordingly to GIS staff and contract companies.  Ability to organize and prioritize the processing of as-built projects packages received from the engineering records team, then assigning these projects to contract companies, other GIS team members and division offices.  Knowledge of pipeline and survey stationing. Having the ability to read, understand and convert survey information which would include, GPS points, stationing, station equations, survey notes and CAD drawings. Understanding how to use this information in the generation of schematics, alignment sheets and facility detail sheets.  Responsible for creating and editing linear features and stationing route events, reconciling/posting versions. Knowledge of how to corrects stationing, linear maintenance and pipeline Information upon request.  Ability to understand historical data such as: material lists, completion reports, AFE/Work Order Authorization, hydro tests, mill test, MAOP Certifications and management of change forms and documents.  Required to complete all quality control on the interstate pipeline projects using alignment sheets, work order documents, maintenance forms and field drawings.  Accountable for project tracking and year end goals. Will be responsible for the workflow on all pipeline interstate as-built projects to complete this reporting.

Preferred Qualifications: Education and/or experience, knowledge, skills & abilities

Understanding of the 49CFR192 regulations. Certification or above in ESRI ArcGIS ArcMap/ArcPro Essentials

Requirements:  Education and/or experience, knowledge and abilities:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements for this position are listed below:

 High school diploma or equivalent.  Minimum of 5+ years or more of related pipeline transmission field, with as built or new construction project experience.  Minimum of 5+ years’ experience using GIS software suite, ArcMap/ArcPro  Good computer skills - proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is required.  Excellent communication and people skills.  Strong organization skills and the ability to work in a team environment.  Initiative-taking and able to work with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions:  The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  

 Usually, normal office working conditions.  Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.  Occasional overnight travel may be required.  Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
