**37789BR** **Extended Job Title:** Lead Grounds Technician - Street & Road Repair **Position Description:** Performs manual work in the operation of heavy, medium, and light mobile equipment, and the maintenance of all such equipment used in the Grounds Maintenance Department. May act as crew leader in the absence of next level supervision. **Requisition ID:** 37789BR **Travel Required:** Up to 25% **Major/Essential Functions:** + Maintain and install brick pavers utilizing proper installation techniques. + Form, pour, and finish concrete walkways and paving areas. + Observe entire grounds and identify and document all problems and/or hazards. + Advise foreperson of project status and operational problems. + Utilize proper safety equipment and techniques to prevent personal injury and property damage and complies with the grounds maintenance safety program to include all safety and health rules, regulations and operating policies and procedures. + Start engines, move throttles, switches, or levers, or depress pedals to operate machines, such as bulldozers, trench excavators, road graders, or backhoes. + Maintain all aspects of grounds including turf, irrigation systems, fences, trees, shrubs, ground covers, walkways, and hardscapes. **Grant Funded?:** No **Minimum Hire Rate:** 17.00 **Pay Basis:** Hourly **Work Location:** Lubbock **Preferred Qualifications:** + Class A Commercial Drivers License + Experienced in operating, repair and maintenance of all grounds equipment **Department:** Grounds Maintenance **Job Type:** Full Time **Job Group:** Maintenance **Shift:** Day **Required Qualifications:** 10th grade education or equivalent plus three years related experience including some in the campus Grounds Maintenance Dept.
