Lead H-60 Pilot Subject Matter Expert-Level 3
Job Summary The H-60 Subject Matter Expert (SME) will support the cradle-to-grave design, build, integration, and testing for all H-60 programs within AVT. This role is responsible for the correct fit, form, and function of simulated H-60 pilot cockpits, to include all embedded systems and accessories.  This role requires proactive and current technical oversight, leadership, and guidance to a team of Engineers (system, mechanical, software, cyber, and hardware) throughout the design and development life cycle. For this particular role, the SME should have an understanding of flight simulation systems and architectures and their application to simulate or stimulate software and hardware to best replicate flight in training devices and courseware. The prospective SME should be able to lead a team through technology discussions to support the simulation of all aspects of pilot utilization of aircraft and flight planning. Weapon systems, fuel, hydraulics, electrical, engine, transmission, emergency procedures (lights, sounds, reactions, “feel”, timing), flight dynamics in all altitudes and weather, SAR, communications/radios systems, VR Forces, AARs, Navigation, external loads, fire-fighting, and basic maneuvers and some TTPs are examples of your impending inputs to the design teams. Your first leadership role will be to head the design through delivery of a H-60 Lima (VL60) FTD to a foreign customer. The ability to maintain a security clearance, interact with external and international customers, along with international travel (in excess of 2-weeks in duration per trip), is require for this role. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment and be able to balance multiple priorities and deadlines. Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks + Analyzes requirements and apply professional background to support the design and technical solutions. + Support the team to produce specifications, design documents, and system diagrams which better define the components, interfaces, and behaviors (flight dynamics, EPs, CAIs, etc). + Support technical discussions, writing and presenting power points and proposals, and providing recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders. This includes being part of the externally facing team to clients and interacting on the Program’s behalf to Partner and/or international helicopter pilots and aircrews during design meetings, testing, and delivery. + Provides guidance and aircraft characteristics leadership to development teams during the implementation phase, ensuring adherence to applicable H60 manuals and flight procedures, as well as advising how the aircraft reacts to inputs and EPs. + Reviews existing systems and applications to identify opportunities for improvement, concurrency to real-world deployed forces, and modernization. + Researches and evaluates emerging technologies and trends to identify their potential impact on existing and future solution designs. + Provides input to the Project Manager regarding technical decisions and risks. + Works in a fast-paced development environment with the ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands simultaneously. + Works as a member of a project team. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.   Qualifications + 5+ years in H60 Lima or Mike TMS. + 1000+ hours in TMS preferred. + Instructor billet and qualification preferred. + Flight simulation experience preferred.
