Responsibilities Performs various clerical duties to support health information management services, including, but not limited to answering phones, imaging duties, analyzing, merging, photocopying, faxing patient records, computer entry or look-up and filing of papers or charts. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity). Qualifications Minimum Education: High School graduate required. Courses in medical terminology preferred. Minimum Experience: Three years working in a Health Information Management Department processing requests for release ofinformation including regulatory and payer request audits. Good organizational skills and some knowledge of various regulating agencies that affect healthcare institutions. Computer experience required in Windows and Microsoft Word Required Certification/Registration: None Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary with intermittent standing and walking. Use of stepstools, ladders, copiers, computers, fax machines, phones. Must be able to use stairs and elevators. Moderate to heavy use of telephone and computer. Must be able to lift heavy charts up to 30 lbs., involving reaching, pulling, pushing, bending, and lifting.
