Lead I - Software Engineering - Application Engineer - Azure

Role Proficiency:

Act creatively to develop applications and select appropriate technical options optimizing application development maintenance and performance by employing design patterns and reusing proven solutions account for others' developmental activities

Outcomes:

Application development: Design, develop, and deploy cloud-based applications using Azure services and technologies. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in languages such as Java. 2. Azure infrastructure management: Configure and manage Azure services such as Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, and others to support application deployment and scalability. Implement infrastructure as code using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Terraform. 3. Application deployment and monitoring: Deploy applications to Azure environments, ensuring proper configuration and scalability. Implement monitoring and logging solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues. 4. Security and compliance: Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Design secure network architectures, implement access controls, and monitor for security threats. 5. Performance optimization: Optimize application performance by implementing caching mechanisms, load balancing, and other techniques. Requirements Strong software development experience in Java, preferably with Java 21+ Extensive hands-on experience in designing and developing application backends using frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Jersey, JPA, Hibernate, SQL, Linux, JSON, XML, OAuth etc. Minimum 2 year of experience in developing Microservices using Spring Boot Experience in developing GRPC services using Spring boot Experience with working on containerized services like AKS Minimum 1 year of experience in Azure native development using Functions, Queue Storage, Stream, S3, Monitor, Key Vault, IAM Minimum 1 year of experience in using many of the Azure services like Virtual Machines, Container Service, AKS, IAM, Storage, Autoscaling, Load balancer etc. and good understanding of architectural best practices Experience with both SQL and NoSQL database systems and is able to write queries Experience with developing unit test code using JUNIT, PowerMock/EasyMock/Mockito etc. Experience with Git, Maven and CI/CD pipelines to deploy cloud applications Proficiency in developing code for both containerized (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless (Functions) environments Proficiency in using SDKs for interacting with native Azure services Experience with credentials/secrets management and data encryption techniques Experience with application deployment and troubleshooting on cloud Experienced with large scale enterprise application development Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence client business and IT teams Experience with Agile software development Ability to work independently and across multiple teams
