Job Summary 

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Neovest subsidiary, you will be a key player in supporting a world-wide network in a redundant environment with multiple "hot/hot" datacenters dealing with extremely large volumes of data. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the Principal Network Engineer in all decisions relating to the design, deployment, and support of the production network environment. Your role will involve maintaining, supporting, and configuring Palo Alto firewall networks. You will also have the chance to migrate on-premise networking infrastructure to IAAS cloud technologies. Job responsibilities

 

Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS) Migrate on premise data center network infrastructure to public cloud IAAS environment Automate network tasks using best practice technologies, investigating emerging technology Monitor network resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team Maximize network performance optimization by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, and maintain current code upgrades Secure network systems by enforcing company policies, monitoring and protecting network access through intrusion detection and intrusion avoidance tools Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases Configure, optimize and maintain routing and switching protocols, firewall rules, and load balancer VIPs and pools.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

 

Formal training or certification on network engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience 5+ years of recent experience supporting a worldwide network with multiple data centers Deep understanding of Cisco routing and switching platforms Deep understanding of IP routing protocols including BGP and OSPF Experience with network scripting and automation tools including terraform Experience with network monitoring tools, including cloud native tool sets, Solarwinds and ThousandEyes Experience with IP Multicasting including PIM and IGMP Strong understanding and experience supporting WAN infrastructure via MPLS, VPLS or SD-WAN technology Extensive experience with Palo Alto firewalls Extensive experience with F5 load balancers Experience with log management / log analysis applications (I.e. Splunk, ELK stack) Working knowledge of Linux (Redhat/CentOS) Strong problem-solving skills
