Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Public Cloud Operations

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Cloud Operational Practices organization, you exhibit both depth and breadth of knowledge regarding software, applications, and technical processes across multiple technical disciplines within Public Cloud. You also have a specialization in a specific domain within infrastructure engineering to drive programs or initiatives consisting of multiple technologies and applications. You serve in a leadership role by providing technical guidance, direction and thought leadership and are a key influencer in your organization’s strategy and success.

Job responsibilities

Applies deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies focused on analyzing complex data and systems, anticipating issues, and finding ways to mitigate risk Works with other platforms and teams to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes Manages infrastructure engineering in accordance with business requirements Drives results and implements multiple complex programs Drives thought leadership within the product line Executes creative solutions for the design and development of modern complexity initiatives according to compliance standards, risk and security and business objectives.  Considers upstream/downstream system or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions Advises junior engineers and technologists Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience  Knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments Adept in specific infrastructure technology and programming languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.) Deep technical knowledge across multiple domains Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to manage and coordinate teams effectively  Demonstrated drive to continue to develop technical and cross-functional knowledge Familiarity with working in a large distributed system across a range of technologies including compute, databases, messaging, observability, and telemetry Knowledge of incident, change, and problem management processes AWS certification(s) Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Significant experience in technology operations within a public and/or private cloud environment. Significant programming background in any applicable language Kubernetes, Azure, GCP, or Terraform certifications
