U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Splunk in Irving, TX.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Lead Infrastructure Engineer – Splunk will lead the design of architecture and implementation of geographically scaled Splunk and Cloud (AWS and Azure) infrastructure. Manage all Splunk plugins configurations including Splunk ITSI (Information Technology Service Intelligence), ES (Enterprise Security) and Heavy/Universal Forwarders infrastructure. Review the work of junior Splunk engineers. Responsible for the build, development and implementation of end to end automation with fully self-healing Splunk Infrastructure in AWS Cloud using Terraform and Ansible. Migrate existing on-prem Splunk Enterprise architecture to Splunk Cloud. Automate Splunk upgrades and day to day deployments using ansible Playbooks and SaltStack Scripts. Configure OpenTelemetry Collector deployments to bring data into Splunk Cloud and metrics to Splunk Observability from Kubernetes Clusters, Databases and Virtual Machines. Develop Splunk reports and interactive dashboards using machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence driven analytics to identify patterns, predict trends, and provide actionable insights. Provide strategic direction to optimize user experience and cost by implementing Search Hygiene, scheduling governance, and operationalizing data ingestion process with DevOps methodologies. Train and mentor junior team members through daily Scrum calls. Analyze Dynatrace, DataDog, and AppDynamics to scope the capabilities of APM applications and how they will benefit and complement existing monitoring capabilities in both reliability and cost perspectives. Develop, Optimize and maintain quality dashboards, custom views, saved searches and alerts for internal technical operations team as well as business application owners. Develop and implement best technical practices and assist in resource planning in coordination with internal ops/support teams as well as developers and business owners. Architecting, designing and implementing the Splunk, and OpenTelemetry Collectors infrastructure to process the incoming data ingestion with efficient manner. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of the worksite location. Multiple Positions.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science plus 5 years of experience as a Software Developer, Splunk Engineer, or related.

Required  Skills/Experience:

Must possess 5 years of experience with: (a) migrating Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Enterprise Security Infrastructure from on-premises to AWS; (b) automating CI/CD using Ansible and Python; (c) developing using Agile Methodologies through tools such as Jira, Confluence and ServiceNow; (d) automating and testing using Jenkins; (e) developing and deploying in Linux and Windows Operating Systems; and (f) deploying production ready code using Git. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $163,966 - $196,100. (#LI-NDI #LI-DNI #LI-DNP #DE-DNP).
