What You'll Do

About the Role

 

As a Data Architect at BCG, you will be pivotal in designing and developing cloud-based data systems for our clients. Your responsibilities include consulting with clients to understand their current issues and future aspirations, creating tailored solution architectures, and recommending strategic solutions. You will be instrumental in crafting physical and logical architecture solution roadmaps, integrating these solutions with client business processes and technology frameworks. Your role involves developing innovative solution sets and enhancing data platform capabilities to address emerging data challenges, leveraging the best of approved Cloud platforms. You'll also guide clients in optimizing their Cloud platform architectures, ensuring efficient expenditure management. In the pre-sales stages, you will evaluate client businesses, processes, systems, and technology needs, providing expert advice on best practices and designing robust solutions. A key aspect of your role is to stay abreast of industry trends, ensuring our cloud data center offerings align with these developments and meet client needs effectively.

 

What You’ll Do

 

Lead and/or assist in designing and developing cloud-based data systems, tailoring solutions to meet client-specific requirements.Engage with clients to evaluate their current and future needs, crafting bespoke solution architectures and providing strategic recommendations.Develop comprehensive architecture solution roadmaps seamlessly integrating client business processes and technologies.Innovate and expand solution offerings to address new data challenges, capitalizing on the capabilities of approved Cloud platforms.Advise clients on Cloud platform architecture optimization, focusing on cost-effectiveness and performance.Assess client requirements in the pre-sales phase, guiding them towards best practice solutions and robust design choices.Keep pace with industry trends to ensure our cloud data center designs and infrastructure layer architectures remain cutting-edge and client-focused.

What You'll Bring

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.Over 10+ years of experience in the architecture, design, implementation, and support of highly distributed applications.Experience designing and implementing highly available, fault tolerant highly Observable systemsFamiliarity with Amazon EMR, Kinesis, Azure HDInsights, and other big data cloud services.Deep understanding of one or more of the Big Data Compute technologies such as Spark / Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Synapse, ETL and Data Orchestration toolsGood understanding of DevOps and Data pipeline automation platformsFamiliarity with Container Technologies such as Kubernetes is desirable but not mandatoryFamiliarity with legal and regulatory requirements relevant to cloud data architecture, such as SOX, PCI, HIPAA, and Data Protection (GDPR, DPDP 2023)Familiarity with cryptographic algorithms and security protocols.Experience in machine learning or graph analysis is advantageous.Skilled in designing and building distributed systems for processing large data volumes.Previous experience in enterprise cloud development is beneficial.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are essential.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
