Learn more at HonorHealth.com. Responsibilities Job Summary Performs and monitors a full range of laboratory testing and analysis. Assists with supervision of laboratory operations. Assumes responsibility for problem resolution, quality control, and required equipment maintenance with minimal supervision. Perform laboratory tests in compliance with department procedures and all pertinent regulatory requirements.Performs other duties as assigned. Follow quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures. Perform instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting and maintain appropriate inventory of supplies. Assists with supervision of laboratory operations. Performs all delegated functions as defined by leadership. Some additional Responsibilities include: Initial review of Daily/Weekly Quality control Initial review of Daily/Weekly Document Review Performs/Assists Technical staff and leadership with Advanced Instrument Maintenance (Monthly, Quarterly, etc.) Performs/Assists Technical staff and leadership with Technical Tasks (Correlations, Carryover Studies, AMR verification, etc.) Performs/Assists Technical staff in training staff. Performs/Assists Technical staff and leadership with assessing competency. Assumes temporary leadership role in absence of supervisor. Assist lab leadership with policy education and writing as required. Assist lab leadership with Staffing/Scheduling as needed. Maintain effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers. Participate in laboratory projects and educational activities. Demonstrates and educates laboratory principles and technical skills to others. Accurately report test results. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: Knowledge of laboratory regulations, protocols and procedures. Analytical and critical thinking abilities. Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions Ability to perform laboratory protocols and procedures. Skill in the use of computers and related software applications. Knowledge of safety and infection control standards.
