Lead Landscaper Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Greets members and guests with a smile and takes care of their needs.
Delegating tasks and overseeing the use of landscaping tools and equipment.
Supporting Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent with training new crew members.
Assessing progress and making recommendations.
Ensuring all crew members always obey health and safety regulations.
Completing landscape design and construction.
Overseeing maintenance of turf and beds, and ensuring proper use of pesticides, fertilizers, and other chemicals. (Typically, the Assistant sprays/spreads pesticides and fertilizers)
Completing inventory checks and equipment inspections.
Providing material, equipment, and time estimates.
Scheduling training sessions wherever required.
Lead Landscaper Experience & Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in professional landscape, hardscape, or drainage preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license to drive Club vehicles.
Knowledgeable of landscaping plants, annuals, perennials, and horticultural practices.
Proficient with the process of installing hardscapes from start to finish.
Able to operate mechanical equipment including, but not limited to, mowers, edgers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, blowers, backpack sprayers and tractors.
Advanced working knowledge of materials and tools used in concrete.
Managerial experience preferred.
Lead Landscaper Skills & Knowledge:
Able to work in all types of weather including inclement weather.
Knowledge of tools and equipment used in landscaping.
On-the-job training as a landscape crew member.
Experience in a leadership role would be advantageous.
Ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions.
The hustle to complete work within a time-sensitive schedule.
Able to meet and exceed expectations for efficiency and quality.
Ability to speak both English and Spanish is a plus.
Lead Landscaper Physical Requirements:
Stands, kneels, bends, pushes and walks for 95% of work day at a brisk pace.
Lifts from 1 pound up to 20 pounds for 90% of work day.
Lifts from 1 pound up to 50 pounds for 25% of work day.
Stoops, crawls, twists, reaches, manipulates equipment and power tools to complete work.
Exposure to chemicals, fertilizers, fumes, gases and loud noise levels.
Works outdoors in inclement weather 90% of the work day.
