Lead Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Physician Office - Cardiology Associates of VA

$5,000 Sign On Bonus

PRIMARY FUNCTION/GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Lead Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing physician support as applicable, and comprehensive nursing care to patients and their families under the direction of the Pediatric physician. This position supports the Practice Manager in coordinating and leading practice personnel to ensure consistent standards of practice and competencies in the delivery of patient care services. The position will perform duties within the scope of practice, ensuring consistency within the practice ensuring policies and procedures, standards of care, approved protocols, standing orders and guidelines are met. The position will also adhere to practice standards governed by the Virginia Board of Nursing, and other applicable state and regulatory agencies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Analyzes the assessment data, evaluates patient's condition, and collaborates with the provider to develop and maintain the patient's plan of care.Provides education to patients, families, and staff members, in conjunction with other healthcare entities, under the direction of the provider or manager.Coordinates the care of the patient with other healthcare entities according to the patient's plan of care.Administers medications in a safe manner, which is consistent with the organizations policies and procedures as well as the state requirements with which they are licensed in.LPNs in a lead position serve as subject matter experts and clinical and professional mentors within the practice.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Active state Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensureBasic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

One year of clinical patient care experience (preferred, not required)

Training:

EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training (preferred)

SKILLS:
