Job Summary
This position is responsible for leading the loading department, acting as a point of contact for scheduling and ensuring the department is adhering to safety standards and following daily work orders in a timely, safe and productive manner.
Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Conducts daily huddles with department regarding schedule and maintenance concerns. Confers with Manager, Shipping & Receiving on scheduling concerns. Communicates maintenance concerns to the Maintenance Associate. Operates a propane sit-down forklift. Sort shipments for destination and group merchandise to be included with or fulfilled in an order. Loading of finished materials for transport and unloading of raw materials. Moving of product to pallets or crates for storage or shipment. Take product off the production line and store in designated location. Transport raw materials to production workstations. Inspect forklift to determine the need for repairs and to guarantee safety. Verify piece counts on each pallet and compare to label. Material handling of all products. Follow manufacturing work orders.Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills. Highly motivated with good sound work ethics. Must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention to detail. Team player able to follow instructions from management and peers. Ability to learn and operate new equipment. Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers). Strong problem-solving skills and math skills with the capability to calculate square footage and batch size.Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum of five (5) years previous forklift experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Shipping and Receiving. Proven leadership skills and abilities.
