Lead Maintenance Technician
Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description

As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, you will be part of a team that works to maximize equipment utilization and efficiency. The role will assist in the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality.

ResponsibilitiesPerform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical (gear boxes, conveyors, motors, chiller), pneumatic, hydraulic, and robotic systems.Identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.Fabricate and repair parts by welding and using machine shop instrumentation and equipment (lathes, milling machines, presses, grinders, cutters).Install, assemble, and fabricate new machines, equipment, and parts in a manufacturing plant.Perform routine preventative and predictive maintenance and service for production equipment (ovens, extruders, molding machines, gearboxes, air compressors, forklift, hydraulic presses).Follow procedures, work instructions, and engineering specifications (drawings, manuals, sketches).Perform building and facility maintenance.Basic electrical troubleshooting skills and able to install or replace motors, heaters, sensors, and contactors.Organize and oversee schedules and work orders of maintenance staff. Conduct follow-ups on all maintenance and repair work.Oversee and enforce good record-keeping practices (CMMS).Mentor/train maintenance technicians.Responsible for the organization of maintenance/machine shop and spare part inventory.Essential SkillsMaintenance technician experienceMechanical skillsHydraulics and pneumatics expertiseRepair and fabrication capabilitiesAbility to maintain production lines through PM, repairs, and troubleshootingExperience with machine shop tools to fabricate parts as neededAbility to use lathe and milling machinesInstallation and assembly line skillsAdditional Skills & Qualifications7-10 years progressive experience in an industrial manufacturing environmentStrong problem-solving capabilitiesProcess-oriented, team-oriented, flexible, and committedVerbal and written communication skillsWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

This role is very hands-on and requires being on the floor 100% of the time. Safety equipment such as a safety vest, safety glasses, and earplugs must be worn. While there is no work-from-home option, the schedule is very flexible, with standard hours from 7 AM to 4 PM. Occasionally, you may need to come in on a Saturday if operators are having issues with equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of South Plainfield, New Jersey.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $83200.00
