**The Role**
The Lead Maintenance Technician at the iconic Penn Harris Hotel plays a vital role in maintaining the hotel’s facilities and ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and safely. This position supports the Chief Engineer in overseeing maintenance operations, leading the engineering team, and implementing preventive maintenance programs to enhance guest satisfaction and operational performance.
**What you'll do**
+ **Maintenance Oversight:** Assist the Chief Engineer in managing the daily operations of the engineering department, including maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of all hotel facilities.
+ **Team Leadership:** Supervise and train engineering staff, ensuring effective teamwork and adherence to safety and quality standards.
+ **Preventive Maintenance:** Implement and monitor a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of hotel equipment and systems.
+ **Troubleshooting:** Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues across the hotel, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
+ **Safety Compliance:** Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions as needed.
+ **Budget Management:** Assist in managing the engineering budget, including monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
+ **Project Management:** Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing renovation and repair projects, coordinating with contractors and vendors as necessary.
+ **Guest Relations:** Respond to guest requests and concerns related to maintenance in a timely and professional manner.
**You'll be successful if you have**
+ **Technical Knowledge:** Strong understanding of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
+ **Problem-Solving:** Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ **Communication Skills:** Strong communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
+ **Safety Compliance:** Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and codes.
**Required Qualifications/Experience**
+ **Education:** High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
+ **Experience:** Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel maintenance or engineering, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role preferred
