As Lead Maintenance Technician in GenMark, you will be performing the following list of tasks by ensuring that your process and procedures comply in areas such as electrical safety, clean room procedures, and GDP.
The Opportunity
Work shift: weekends, 3rd shift: Thursday - Monday 10 pm-6 am.
Troubleshooting Mechanical, Electrical, and Software issues on GenMark’s ePlex Cartridge and Consumable manufacturing equipment. Ensure repairs and/or adjustments to manufacturing equipment are completed & drive solutions to recurring issues (partner with Manufacturing Engineering to implement solutions when needed)Developing a strategy and plan for training technicians. Train personnel on Preventive Maintenance of production equipment, equipment validations (IQ/OQ), and documenting all activities following Good Documentation Practice; train all junior technicians in the theory and operation of all equipment. Anticipate and prevent gaps in training or compliance with preventative maintenance programs.Leading and implementing continuous process improvement projects and making recommendations to reduce scrap, including the spare parts program, fixtures needed to support manufacturing, R&D, and other company improvement needsFostering smooth communication between shift leads of other departments to prioritize solving efforts and to minimize equipment downtime and product loss. Bridge any communication gaps between management and junior techniciansIdentifying and performing additional duties as assignedWho you are
You bring a High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associate degree or technical/trade school in Engineering or Scientific field preferred6-8 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is required.Asset Database Management system, FDA, cGMPs, and/or ISO, CFR-Part 820 knowledge and experience is requiredBehaviors, competencies, and qualities of the ideal applicant.
Strong ability to lead a small team of techniciansStrong quality orientation with attention to detail and a desire to deliver service excellence is highly desired. Experience using documents and quality control procedures which include best practicesDemonstrated ability to analyze and solve equipment faults issues in both mechanical and electronic systems and provide a root cause. Strong problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills. Able to use computer software programs such as Word, and ExcelExperience with automated liquid reagent dispensing systems (Biodot, etc..); with surface modification (plasma, Corona, etc..) and spray coating; with machine vision system (Cognex, Keyence, etc.) is a plusThe expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is 53,200.00 - 98,800.00 USD. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
